Distractions!

The key to becoming less distracted is to regain focus on the original plan/idea/goal etc. We get distracted by smaller things and then take our eyes off what really matters. Distractions cost us our time and effort which we could be investing in something more meaningful but instead we find ourselves getting easily distracted.

I recently read an article which spoke about the top distractions we face and the number one distraction is our smart phones. Our phones have become a major part of our lives by sending us key information and notifications but also a major distraction too, from Facebook notifications to looking at the latest dress on the ASOS App - we have to admit that we are becoming a lot more distracted.

Life has become a lot more noisy too, it's often hard to go and find your peace and quiet but this is extremely important to living a healthy life and keeping a healthy mind. The other day I decided to go for a walk without my phone, without anyone else, it was just me and my thoughts. As soon as I got back home, I couldn't wait to find a piece of paper to write down all my ideas. It was great!

In order to deal with distraction - you need to know what your distraction is, we all have different things that catch our attention and take our minds off what we should be doing, it could be that TV programme or long phone conversation talking about absolutely nothing. The distraction needs to be identified by you! If you are doing something and you think to yourself that you could be using your time to do something better, then you need to do exactly that.

Define your distraction and get rid of it (or cut it down day by day) if you don't get rid of your distraction eventually it could ruin everything you've worked so hard for over the past years.

We are all on an individual journey with an individual purpose in life - minimise/eliminate the distraction so you can do what you set out to do.

Distractions - Get rid of it!
